Structure of
the Paper:
We recommend the
paper is organized in the following order:
- Title (should be clear, descriptive
and not too long)
- Name(s) of author(s)
- Institutional Affiliation(s)
- Present Email address(es) of
author(s)
- Abstract, comprising 150-250 words
- Keywords (between 4 to 6),
highlighting the main topics of the paper
- Introduction
- Literature Review
- Methodology (Material studied, area
descriptions, methods, techniques
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- References
- Acknowledgements (if any)
Format
- Paper: A4 size (21×29.7 cm) portrait; 2.5
cm margins on all sides
- Font type: 12 pt Arial, Paragraph justified
- Spacing: Single Spacing, ends and paragraphs
justified
- Maximum number of words should
be 8,000, including figures, tables, references etc.
- Headings:
- Use a maximum of three (3) levels of
headings, numbered consecutively
- Level-1-headings should be in bold
small capitals, level-2-headings in bold.
- Do not number abstract,
acknowledgements and references
- Space before level 1-headings is
12pt, and 6pt after.
- Space before & after
level-2-headings is 6pt
Abstract and
Keywords
Abstract: The
abstract should be clear on itself and comprise 150-250 words. A good abstract
should give a brief overview of the paper including the purpose, the research
design / methodology, and the findings, novelty/contributions. It is also a
good practice to explain how the findings from the research can be useful in
solving problems or closing gaps in the specific subject area.
Keywords: Should highlight the main topics of the paper, 3-6 words
Tables &
Figures
- Insert tables at the appropriate
place in the text without embedding them into frames.
- Do not use links to external
documents.
- Use only horizontal lines in tables,
with a minimum width of 1 pt.
- Each table and figure must be
followed by a source statement, and must explicitly be referred to in the
text.
- Tables should be numbered according
to their sequence in the text.
- Avoid large tables.
- Tables should be clear without
reading the text.
- Any necessary explanations essential
for understanding the table should be given as a footnote at the bottom of
the table.
All manuscripts for this conference should be in the English Language. Authors can use either British or American English but should be consistent throughout the paper.
Formula
- Formulae should be typewritten.
- Subscripts and superscripts should be
clear.
- Give the meaning of all symbols
immediately after the equation in which they are first used.
- Equations should be numbered in Arabic numbers serially at the right-hand side in parentheses.
References
- All publications cited in the text
must be presented in an alphabetical list of references following the text
of the full-paper and should conform to the Harvard referencing style.
- In the text, refer to the author’s
name (without initials) and year of publication: e.g., (Badu, 2008)
- The full-paper should be carefully
checked to ensure that the spelling of author’s names and dates are
exactly the same in the text as in the reference list.
- Author’s names should appear in Small
Capitals. Use the abbreviation “et al.” (only) in the text if there are
more than two authors. However, in the list of references all the authors
should be mentioned.
- References cited together in the text
should be arranged chronologically. The list of references should be
arranged alphabetically by authors’ names, and chronologically per author.
- Work accepted for publication, but
not yet published should be referred to as “in press”.
- References concerning unpublished data and “personal communications” should not be cited in the reference list, but may be mentioned in the text.
Footnotes
- Footnotes should be avoided.
- If absolutely necessary, they should be numbered in the text, indicated by superscript numbers.
